MarketPlace Chalks Up Another Success

Filed Under: All Posts on March 14, 2011

In it’s 5th year, the MarketPlace: Opening Doors to Success conference in Kearney was another powerhouse of learning and networking for over 600 entrepreneurs throughout Nebraska and beyond. One of the keys to success for the conference has been the number of topics available, from nuts and bolts sessions on business finances to the youth track that targets the youngest of entrepreneurs, to technology, marketing and more.

The conference occurs each year during National Entrepreneurship week. GROW Nebraska offered a drawing for free membership in GROW and once again operated the MarketPlace store presenting food samples and great products from Nebraska. The participating businesses included:

4 Real Kids – Oxford
Alabaster Box Soap – Atkinson
BrZ Online – Grand Island
Buy Fresh Buy Local – Lincoln
Cedar Hills Vineyard – Ravenna
Country Taste of Homemade – Sargent
Doggone Clean Paws – Grand Island
George Paul Vinegar – Cody
Heavenly Creations – Stapleton
Herbal Gatherings – Cozad
HomeSpun – McCook
I Bead Unique – Ogallala
KK Enterprises – Beatrice
Furnasman Music – Lincon
Rosewood Environmental Art – Omaha
Sculptures by Sally – Heartwell
The Beverage Butler – Holdrege

Attendees enjoyed sampling the food products and sales were brisk for all product lines. It’s always exciting to see people discovering the amazing products of their fellow Nebraskans.

If you weren’t able to make it this year, keep your eyes peeled for registration for next year’s event. It’s one of the most affordable and effective conferences around – just ask the 600 attendees from this year’s event!
