Congratulations Colts!

I am going to host an eco-friendly Super Bowl party! Congratulations Peyton Manning and the Colts on another trip to the Super Bowl. My son Parker’s first football hero was Peyton Manning. He has since developed admiration for a number of other players, but we still like Peyton due to his down to earth charm. So in his honor we decided the Ehrke’s are going to host an eco-friendly Super Bowl party.

Haley is going to send e-vites. She is thrilled to have another reason to spend a few more hours on the computer sending out invitations via email or online invitations sites instead of mailing them. Not only are many e-cards free or cheaper than paper cards, they save money on postage and reduce your carbon footprint. Sites such as Hallmark have e-cards for almost any occasion. If you aren’t quite ready to jump into online invitations (or you don’t have a 13 year-old daughter to help), you can use recycled cards from Nebraska. Hunzekers have recycled cards as well as other recycled items.

Parker is charge of decorations. We already have a Peyton Manning Fathead, jersey and footballs. I am in charge of the food and of course I will be using all local and organic GROW Nebraska members’ gourmet food products. Leon is in charge of getting some local beer from a Nebraska microbrewery. We are also going to use real dishes instead of paper products. So join us by having your own eco-friendly Super Bowl party.
