The Holidays Are Over

The GROW Nebraska Lincoln Holiday Store is officially closed. We had a great time this year trying new strategies to help our members. For the first time we opened a month earlier than we have in previous years. This was a positive experience as it gave customers the opportunity to realize that we were open and provide awareness for the upcoming holiday season.
Another first for us was having the same location as last year. Shoppers have told us in prior years that they didn’t think we were in the mall that year because we were in a different location. We enjoy interacting with the customers, and always tell them to look for us, as we don’t always know what location will be available the next holiday season.
This year we also stayed open after Christmas. Typically, we have closed our doors on Christmas Eve, but this year, the store stayed open until January 8.
When evaluating our many “firsts” for the year, we need to include external factors such as weather. The massive snowstorms may have played a role in the amount of people shopping after the holiday, which is something we will take into consideration for our plans next year.
GROW Nebraska always takes advantage of new opportunities. Not every opportunity is one that will be continued, but at least we can say we tried. In your business, there are some risks but you can research, try, and evaluate new opportunities. We researched, we tried, and the evaluation is still to come.
I also want to thank all of our members for their hard work this holiday season. We couldn’t have done it without you.
