What if you got run over by a Reindeer?

reindeerIt is a Monday of a short week for most. It is also a busy traveling season. With the looming snowstorm, I’m wondering if I am prepared to travel in snowy conditions. The plan is to leave for my family’s get together on Thursday evening after celebrating locally with my husband’s family.

Last night, I mentioned to my husband that we should probably pack blankets and pillows in case we would need to pull over and sleep in the back of the SUV. He kindly reminded me that there would be hotels available to stay in if needed. He made a great point, but all of these items – the blankets, pillows, scrapers, extra water, snacks and games – will be packed in the car so we are prepared. In addition to being prepared for the winter weather, it is important for your business to be prepared.

Preparation is important in all aspects of your business. Are you prepared if something would happen that would make it impossible for you to continue to oversee business production for a short or long period of time? Would your business survive? Do you have someone who could step in that has a similar shared vision for the future of the company? Although this is not the most cheery thing to think about during the holiday season, it is important to have these aspects figured out before a crisis would occur.

If you need any help getting prepared, GROW Nebraska is here to help you. We can recommend some great resources in helping you be ready.

GROW wishes everyone safe travels this holiday season.
