Are you getting into the Christmas Spirit?

Decorations are hung on houses and storefronts, Christmas cards will soon start arriving, songs of the seasons echo through malls and offices. We would have to close our eyes and ears to miss out on the season. But how do we avoid the tension and stress and enjoy the season? Over the years working in the GROW Nebraska stores has helped me. I remember clearly one customer coming to our Lincoln Holiday store and purchasing all the liquid foamers and matching shea and cocoa butter enriched soap and coordinating hand and body creams, we had in four different scents from Nebraska Sunset Soaps of Albion. She went on and on that they were not only a great gift but everyone that washed their hands in her house smelled great and used a product that was gentle on their skin. Angels are also a great way to keep you in the spirit. Many times, I have had to call Heirloom Treasures for a customer that needed a birth stone angel right away and we were out. Like magic, she would get the angels the customer needed within days so all was well. I always wanted a fur coat, but instead have settled for a fur bear from Fur and Leather Creations of Alma. If you want anything with fur, you need to give them a call. Happy snowman can make anyone smile, which is why I have a collection of Back Home Wreaths Snowman. Each year happy snowmen are added to her collections. At this rate, they may take over my house in a few years – but they are happy!
A girl gets hungry doing all this holiday shopping so I always have around peanut brittle from OK Café in Hastings. Yes, I know that fruit cake is not something you would want people to know you actually eat. A must try for the holiday season if you are already not addicted to it is Beatrice Bakery of Beatrice premium cakes. They come in many flavors and are delightful. At night I sit down with a cup of PurJava coffee of Lincoln that I can make as strong as I need and all I have to do is warm up some water – no waste. What a relief. Sometime in my hand painted Christmas glass from Creative Hand of Holdrege I savor a glass of wine from Max Creek Vineyard of Lexington. The holidays are delightful and to help you stay or get into the Christmas Spirit the GROW Nebraska stores are full of wonderful Nebraska products made by real Nebraskans with love and if you don’t want to leave the house go to www.shopgrownebraska.org or the GROW Nebraska eBay Store. We will deliver all your goodies right to the door specially packed just for you by our store elf Melissa. Enjoy the holiday spirit!
