Thanksgiving – A Break for You from Your Business or Primetime to Sell?

turkeyAs I am looking forward to Thanksgiving this week, I am starting to plan what all needs to be done. My husband and I will be going to visit family in Missouri. We haven’t been there in awhile (since I graduated from college). This is my husband’s family and a majority of them aren’t familiar with what GROW Nebraska is.

I could spend the weekend enjoying time away from my laptop and phone, which I will, but I will also be promoting the program. There are simple ways to do promotion to family and friends without a lot of time or effort and without “selling” your business to them. For example, we won’t see these grandparents for Christmas so we will be taking their presents out with us. (They will be getting a Nebraska gift basket.) We will also be taking a host gift for our relatives that are hosting Thanksgiving and the ones we are staying with. (I am thinking about candles as we have many great companies.)

In addition, to add to the Thanksgiving spread I am going to bring some of our unique products. It creates a great conversation piece. I am thinking about taking Ely Farms Pickled Asparagus. They are very tasty and great in a relish tray or in a Bloody Mary. Another fun option is Prairie Fine Foods Corn Sticks or any of the great jams, jellies, mustards or sauces that GROW members offer.

Are you a service business? Why not take the host family a gift certificate for your business? Are you hosting? You could give a gift certificate as a door prize. These are quick fun ways to promote your business without your computer or phone. It is a great time to promote your business to your number one fans – your family and friends. Happy Thanksgiving!
