bloghilsHave you ever been in the valley of the South Loup River? I can totally understand how this series of winding rivers got their names – it would be really fun to fly over them in a small plane and count the twists and turns!

Cedar Hills Vineyard near Ravenna is the perfect place to experience this beautiful part of Nebraska, plus you have the opportunity to experience the flavors of grapes, berries and brambles in wines, jellies and pie. It’s a culinary dream.

Pull in and check out the new dining room and tasting room – they’ll be serving lunch on Friday and Saturday starting on October 30th. You can purchase a wine tasting, which includes homemade focaccia bread and dipping oil. Cheese and crackers or meat and cracker plates are available to accompany your wine. Cedar Hills Raspberry Passion wine is now available in the tasting room and they carry several other Nebraska winery wines. Then you can linger and sample a piece of pie to top off your stop.

If you like a Friday evening out, put October 30 on your calendar for a prime rib or smoked pork chop dinner. Meals include bruschetta, focaccia bread and oil, salad, meat, potato, vegetable, homemade dinner rolls, dessert, and coffee or tea. It’s a great way to launch a relaxing weekend.

So take a little time to explore the beauty of Nebraska and sample the fruits of the vineyard in wine or a slice of pie. Maybe you’ll want to take some jelly home to help you recapture the essence of your stop near Ravenna.
