Are the GROW Nebraska Stores creating a shopping experience?

October is buy local month and GROW Nebraska is proud of all the local businesses that are members of our organization. Two years ago GROW Nebraska opened our first year-round retail store/training center in Kearney at the Hilltop Mall. A year later we open our second location in Grand Island at the Conestoga Mall and during the holiday season we open a temporary store in Lincoln at the Westfield Gateway Mall. We hire members to provide them retail training and the stores work wonderful for market testing of products. One of the most important things we are trying to do is create an experience when you shop at a GROW Nebraska location. It’s not hard to notice that some clerks in stores rarely acknowledge customers until they make a purchase. It’s like you’re invisible or unimportant until you decide to spend your money.
At the GROW Nebraska stores we stress how extremely important it is to welcome each of our customers as he/she enters the store. Not greet, welcome. We believe welcoming our customers acknowledges that they are our priority; it is the first step in creating a great experience and thanking them for coming into our store. We greatly appreciate that our customers report when our staff shows them we’re happy to see them in our store and that we’re going to exceed their expectations. We are training our staff to be an ambassador for the GROW Nebraska store. We also appreciate the staff adhering to the GROW Nebraska dress code by always wearing a GROW Nebraska t-shirt or apron. We also stress with our staff they learn as much as possible about the people that our make the products – Real Nebraskans making real products. We have lots to learn and improve upon to make each visit into a GROW Nebraska store an experience. I would love to hear about your experiences.
