Change is a good thing? Like moving the Nebraska State Fair……

August is here and that means the Nebraska State Fair is right around the corner. There are lots of conversations going on regarding the State Fair move to Grand Island. GROW Nebraska has had the opportunity to collaborate with the State Fair since 2004 by having a GROW Nebraska Store located in Ag Hall. This collaboration has been beneficial for the entrepreneurs we work with and fair goers.

I have to admit I have mixed feelings about the Nebraska State Fair leaving Lincoln. Being an old 4-Her, my claim to fame, if you ask the people I work with, was winning Grand Champion Market Beef in 1980 so it makes me sad to think an era is ending. I have made it one of my life goals to embrace change. And to be successful in today’s world economy-change is inevitable. So, I am looking forward to our last GROW Nebraska Store at the Nebraska State Fair in Lincoln. The response from entrepreneurs, artists and small businesses has been overwhelming to participate in our store this year, so if you don’t come out to the 2009 Nebraska State Fair and stop by the GROW Nebraska Store in Ag Hall you are going to miss seeing some great local products and art. We hope to continue our collaboration with the new Nebraska State Fair in Grand Island. A new location will mean progress, excitement, growth and development. Attending the State Fair is one of my family’s traditions. So, please join us to celebrate the last Nebraska State Fair in Lincoln and mark your calendar for the new Nebraska State Fair in Grand Island – remember change is good!
